La Carità Solas ~ a growing foundation of abundance
“While we do our good works let us not forget that the real solution lies in a world in which charity will have become unnecessary.” Chinua Achebe, Anthills of the Savannah
We know of several remarkable organizations who help on a global level, where and when the need is the greatest. At Solas Health we honor the opportunity to be of service and through World Vision and other community organizations, we have committed to making donations that make a difference. We'll also be planting trees around the world throughout the year !!! So, shopping for your health and wellness needs at Solas Health Centre means that we all contribute to organizations that help to provide water, medical supplies, nutrition and education to children and their families in areas that are in need. We encourage our patrons to join in on your own whenever possible.
Mobile Medical Clinic
"Health on Wheels"
January 2016 & 2017 & December 2018
December 2019
Beginning in 2016 we’ll be contributing monthly to an important World Vision project, through our clinic Solas Health. So, to start the year on the right track, Solas Health donated a Mobile Medical Clinic which will provide “Health on wheels for remote, rural communities. Thanks to matching donations from corporate partners, this gift helps equip and staff a mobile medical clinic. In remote places with no access to a hospital, this clinic may be the only source of healthcare. “

Goats provide families with protein and income to help them survive and thrive. One dairy goat can give up to 250 litres of milk a year. Two can be bred to produce 2 to 3 kids a year, and eventually multiply into a whole herd. These hardy animals eat grass and leaves, and do well in harsh climates.
The Canopy Project
Solas contributes to planting trees annually
The Canopy Project plants trees that help communities, especially the world's impoverished communities, sustain themselves and their local economies. Trees reverse the impact of land degradation and provide food, energy and income, helping communities to achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability. Trees also filter the air and help stave off the effects of climate change. That's why, earlier this the year, Earth Day Network made a commitment with the Global Poverty Project to plant 10 million trees over the next five years in impoverished areas of the world. Every dollar donated helps to plant trees where they are most needed in areas such as Haiti, Uganda, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and urban areas in the U.S.
The campaign to defend critical forests has just begun and our support is key to succeeding at restoring the planet's natural protective canopy.
